When our long standing, founding executive director suddenly retired, we called upon Margaret to serve in the Interim Executive Director role.  How fortunate we were that she did much more than just right the ship.  After immersing herself in the details of the organization and picking up all the loose threads, she turned her attention to important unresolved board matters, particularly strategic planning, leading to a clearly defined mission and to achievable goals. Finally, Margaret lead the nationwide search for the permanent executive director and was instrumental in recruiting a candidate who has now successfully lead the organization for several years.

After our 1st part-time ED stepped down, Margaret served as our Interim ED. She created our Board nominating process, our first fundraising and communications strategy and gave the organization community and political visibility. Five years later, we are successful and a credible organization locally and in the state because of the solid foundations and structures she helped us put in place.

Margaret facilitated a two day virtual strategic planning retreat for us and it’s the first time I’ve come away from this type of session feeling energized and excited as opposed to overwhelmed! She did a fantastic job working with the key contacts ahead of the sessions to learn more about the organization, gather information, and get a full understanding of our needs and goals. She then used this knowledge to lead our board through two intensive days of planning. Margaret asked thought provoking questions, allowed for multiple ways to interact, and helped get our minds centered each day for the work ahead. I hope to have an opportunity to work with Margaret again in the future!
